The Bears are back!

After maybe one of the more embarrassing performances in the last half decade of Chicago Bears football, the team decided to get their first scapegoat of the next eight weeks out the door. On Tuesday morning, the team announced that they fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. For those keeping track at home, that means Waldron lasted exactly eight (8) games with the team. They'll now turn to passing game coordinator Thomas Brown to fill in for Waldron through the rest of the year.

Shortly after the decision became public, Eberflus released an official statement through the team. Here are the final words of the Shane Waldron Era.

Matt Eberflus says firing Shane Waldron is in 'best interest' of Bears

"After evaluating our entire operation, I decided that it is in the best interest of our team to move in a different direction with the leadership of our offense. This decision was well-thought-out, one that was conducted deliberately and respectfully. I would like to thank Shane for his efforts and wish him the best moving forward.”

Well there you have it! Everything's fixed now. The Bears will now have no issues throwing for more than 200 yards a game. Surely Eberflus has a ton of innovative, offensive ideas that they can now implement because Waldron's no longer trying to get Gerald Everett another contract. Maybe Thomas Brown can fix some things over the last couple months of the season, though I'm not sure the answer is with a coach who took a demotion after being the *Carolina Panthers* offensive coordinator last year. But maybe!

For now, the Bears get to move forward against [checks notes] the Green Bay Packers during one of the more turbulent weeks of their season. Once again, Eberflus shows what a masterful tactician he truly is. Years 4 and 5 are going to be way different!
