The 2025 NFL Draft is just about two weeks away, and now is the time for draft experts to begin to make their final mock drafts of the season.
Even through mock drafts, it's difficult to get a sense of what the Chicago Bears will do. Will conventional wisdom would point to the Bears trading back, recent mock drafts have seen the team make a blockbuster move up in the draft in order to select Penn State's Abdul Carter.

The Bears are in a position to take the best player available, regardless of whether they stay at No. 10 in the first round or move back. Staying at No. 10 is what Mel Kiper Jr. has the Bears doing in his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft for ESPN. With the No. 10 pick, Kiper has the Bears sticking with Penn State but taking tight end Tyler Warren. In case you were wondering, Carter, Will Campbell, Mason Graham, Ashton Jeanty, and Armand Membou were all taken ahead of the Bears' selection.
If that is the scenario that plays out for the Bears, I would think the team would be more likely to trade back than to take Warren. Warren certainly could be an impact tight end but it's also important to note that he is not of the same caliber as Brock Bowers was last season. It's also important to remember that the Bears have a capable tight end already on their roster in Cole Kmet. That shouldn't prevent the Bears from taking Warren but they also shouldn't feel obliged to either.
Kiper's latest mock draft was actually for the first two rounds of the draft. In the second round, Kiper had the Bears taking Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen with the No. 39 selection, and Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson with the No. 41 selection.
Assuming the Bears do not take Jeanty in the first round, selecting a running back with one of their second-round picks seems like the logical thing to do. The Bears, while not discarding D'Andre Swift, have made it clear with their comments that they aren't married to the idea of the veteran running back being their primary back next season. Henderson would check that box.
