Most Chicago Bears fans thought breakout star of 2025, cornerback Nahshon Wright, was robbed of getting a Pro Bowl selection. That will no longer be the case.

The Athletic's Dan Wiederer revealed that Wright will get his first Pro Bowl selection, replacing Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell on the roster. Wright had a stellar season after having to fill in for Jaylon Johnson in the starting lineup.

In 17 games, Wright had 80 tackles, five interceptions, three tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, one quarterback hit, and one touchdown. His nine takeaways led the NFL.

Nahshon Wright finally getting the respect he deserves

It has been quite the journey for Wright over his NFL career, as he had three career starts in 33 games through his first four years. This season was truly a breakout year for Wright, as he was one of the NFL's great surprises.

This offseason just got a lot more interesting, as a Pro Bowl selection will certainly boost Wright's value with other NFL teams. Despite all the great stats that Wright put up, it wasn't always smooth for them.

Nothing should be taken away from Wright, as he had a great year, but he struggled in coverage at times and was beaten, especially late in the season. What helped Wright was that he created the turnovers when they needed them most.

Now, as a free agent, the Bears must decide if it would be worth it for them to sign Wright to be their number two corner or to stick with Tyrique Stevenson, who kind of fell out of favor with the team late in the season. Chicago could also look in the NFL Draft to find another CB2 if Wright isn't the guy.

The asking price for Wright might be too high, as he will get a lot of attention from other NFL teams. With this latest update, the Bears might lose out on Wright altogether.
