Nobody had a Chicago Bears player on their weekend menu in a Madden 27 leak, but it looks like it could be happening.
On social media, there has been a leak of Madden 27's cover athlete, and it shows Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. If the leak is real, Madden decided to use Williams' "Iceman" celebration he used after the win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 last season.
Williams finished the 2025 campaign with 3,942 passing yards and 31 total touchdowns with just seven interceptions in 17 regular season games. He led an NFL record seven comebacks and game-winning drives throughout the regular season and postseason, as well as having the Bears finish with an 11-6 record, winning the NFC North, and beating the Packers in the Wild Card round.

To have a Bears player on the cover is an awesome thing for the fan base, as they have not seen one on the cover of the main releases. Technically, former Bears offensive lineman Roberto Garza was on the cover of the Madden 09 Spanish version.
It's a massive deal to have Williams on there, as he has earned the moment after delivering spectacular plays throughout last year with his insane throws and comebacks. He has become one of the most exciting players in the NFL, and Madden is taking advantage of that.
The concern, though, is that the Madden curse is still around and has affected most of the cover athletes over the last two decades. Just last year, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had a down season after being the cover athlete on Madden 26, as he went from having over 2,000 rushing yards in 2024 to just over 1,100 yards and averaged 4.1 yards per carry last season.

Bears fans are going to try not to believe that Williams will be affected by the curse, but it's hard not to think about it.
