This offseason has been all about the Chicago Bears pulling a complete turnaround. In just one offseason, hope has truly been restored.
And, fans aren't quite sure what world they're living in. Not only did the Bears hire the coach everyone else wanted, but they're making the right moves via trades and free agency. It's actually been quite surprising.
But, we'll take it.
A division rival, on the other hand, has also had a phenomenal offseason. The Minnesota Vikings keep making notable move after notable move and look to be even better than they were last year.
The big question is, which quarterback will be under center? It's going to be second-year pro J.J. McCarthy, right?
Right?
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, that might not be the case. Russini recently reported that the Vikings are seriously considering signing Aaron Rodgers as we await his free agency decision.
This new report, or rumor if you will, suggests that there is mutual interest between Rodgers and the Vikings.
The Bears could see Aaron Rodgers sign with the Vikings after a new rumor emerged
The Vikings appear to be one of three teams in on Rodgers. It's between Minnesota, the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers. If he came to Minnesota, Chicago would have a chance to avenge recent losses and embarrassment.
The last time the Bears beat Rodgers was back in December of 2018.
Yes, it's been that long. Does it feel like it's been longer? To some, it sure does.
With the whole "I still own you" garbage that angered and haunted Bears fans for a few years, that's one moment (or series of moments) fans will not forget. This buildup between Rodgers and the Bears has been brewing for quite a long time.
After all, Rodgers is 25-4 against Chicago in his career. It's about time the tables are turned. Don't mind the fact that it might have taken until Rodgers hit age 40 for it to happen.
The fact that it could happen is notable, nonetheless.
Now, let's say Rodgers doesn't sign with the Vikings and chooses either the Steelers or Giants. Guess what?
The Bears still have a chance at revenge, because they will play home tilts against both teams in 2025. So, no matter what, Chicago will get a chance at revenge over Rodgers.
However, if he chooses Minnesota, the Bears could get multiple cracks at beating their old nemesis.
