That has been the popular comeback for many trying to downplay what Caleb Williams and the Bears were able to do against the Panthers. Here is the thing with that statement, the way this Bears' team has played over the past three seasons, they do not deserve the benefit of doubt when playing bad teams.

No, a dominating win over the Panthers is not going to be enough for the Bears to leapfrog any of the three teams ahead of them in the NFC North but it's an encouraging first step. It is beginning to click for Williams and that could make the Bears ready to ascend.
