More 2026 NFL schedule leaks are coming out, and the Chicago Bears fan base is starting to see the whole picture come into place.
The newest post from the X account "NFL Nerd" reports that the Bears will have a home game in Week 4, facing the New York Jets at 12:00 pm CST. While the network has not been confirmed, in the past, an NFC home team facing an AFC road team would typically be on CBS.
This is a rare matchup between the two teams, as the Bears and Jets have only met 13 times in history, with Chicago owning the series 9-4. New York did win the last matchup against Chicago 31-10 back in 2022, but lost the previous five games to the Bears.
Bears are set to face a struggling Jets team in Week 4
A lot has been said about the Bears' 2026 schedule, as, based on the 2025 winning percentages of this year's opponents, Chicago has the NFL's toughest schedule. Games like the Jets are important for the Bears to have so that they have some easy games thrown in there.
Last year, the Jets went 3-14 and were one of the worst teams in the NFL. They ended up with the number two overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
This is a battle of second-year head coaches who know each other well. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn was the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions from 2021 through 2024, while Bears head coach Ben Johnson was the Lions' offensive coordinator from 2022 through 2024.

On paper, this should be a win for the Bears as they will be favored, but with Glenn knowing how Johnson thinks, it could be a potential trap game early in the season. Still, the Bears look like they should have a win on the calendar in Week 4.
