Following the 2025 NFL Draft, Nick Chubb has been the talk of the town for the Chicago Bears.

Despite efforts to move up in the second round of the draft and take TreVeyon Henderson, the Bears were boxed out. The Bears wound up taking a running back in the seventh round of the draft, and to their credit, it seems that Kyle Monangai has an upward chance of making the 53-man roster.

Still, it would seem unlikely that the Bears would willingly enter the season with the expectation of a seventh-round pick being a legitimate contributor in their backfield. Enter the rumors that the Bears may be on the verge of signing Chubb.

One of the biggest questions that has surfaced in light of the Bears' rumored signing of Chubb is how healthy is the veteran running back?

After suffering a devastating knee injury in 2023, Chubb worked his way back and started 8 games for the Cleveland Browns in 2024. Chubb didn't silence questions of his health during the 2024 season as he averaged under 4 yards per carry for the first time in his career. A four-time Pro Bowler, Chubb was in talks with the Cleveland Browns about a potential return before the Browns selected two running backs during the draft.

The Browns foregoing a reunion with Chubb has only added to the speculation of his health. Chubb is doing his part to silence those doubts. Chubb has been sharing workout videos ever since the draft ended, sending a clear message to teams that he is healthy.

A return to the Browns has all but been ruled out for Chubb. With that in mind, the Bears are near the top of the list of teams that make the most sense for Chubb. Beyond the fact that Chubb would be playing in Ben Johnson's offense, the fact D'Andre Swift is already on the roster would mean that he doesn't have to be the workhorse running back that he previously was with the Browns.
