Chicago Bears fans had to suffer through the Super Bowl because they didn't watch their team, but now they are seeing one of their former assistants go from Super Bowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks to being promoted to another team.
Former Bears quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko spent the past season with the Seahawks as their QBs coach. That was before NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that Janocko has landed a new job with the Las Vegas Raiders as their offensive coordinator. Janocko joins former Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, as he is now the head coach of the Raiders.
Chicago fans might remember that Janocko was responsible for developing Justin Fields in 2022 and 2023. Fields ended up finishing ninth on the NFL MVP voting in 2022 after a solid season, but the Bears never made the postseason when Janocko was a coach there.

It's hard to place any blame on Janocko for what happened with Fields, as there were plenty of problems in Chicago during the two seasons he coached there. There were essentially no weapons for Fields to throw to, and too many mistakes were made in signing to help out with it.
A big thing with Fields as well was that he was more of an athletic quarterback and never really developed as a passer. As many NFL fans saw this past season, when Fields was with the New York Jets, it was a horrendous year for him as a starter, to the point that he might have ruined his chances of ever being a full-time starter again.
Janocko has actually done some good things since leaving the Bears, besides the obvious Super Bowl victory. He helped Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold become an efficient starter in 2025, leading one of the top offenses in the NFL.

Everything worked out in the end: the Bears were a playoff team in 2025, and Janocko was promoted after being a champion, so not too many complaints all around.
