They actually did that? This isn't a joke?

Chicago Bears fans are all wondering the same thing right now: what are the Green Bay Packers thinking?

The Packers and wide receiver Christian Watson reached an agreement on a four-year, $110.5 million contract extension that includes a $31 million signing bonus, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. Watson becomes the second Packers wide receiver, alongside Jayden Reed, to get a contract extension this offseason. That means the Packers have handed out a total of $160.75 million for the next four years.

Last season, Watson went for 611 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 17.5 yards per reception. His best season during his four-year NFL career was back in 2024, when he went for 620 yards.

Packers really handed out $110 million to a receiver who hasn't gone for over 1,000 yards ever

Bears fans are just puzzled by the Packers' decision, but won't argue against it. This is a hilarious move that shows the kind of desperation Green Bay is showing to keep receivers there.

The Packers have simply not gotten the kind of production out of their receivers they were hoping for, as Watson and Reed are good receivers, but for the kind of money they are getting, it feels like a massive reach. These guys would be lucky to be number-three receivers on most NFL teams, and for the Packers to give them the kind of money they are, it should make Bears fans grateful for the situation they are in.

Chicago is not breaking the bank on Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, or any of their other receivers. The Bears have cheap, talented young receivers who put the Packers' wide receiver room to shame.

The Bears fan base will just keep laughing at the Packers over their decision.
