This game just got significantly more interesting.

Remember summer?

Temperatures were warm, the days were long, and the Bears hadn't disappointed anyone yet? Those were the days. Back in those days, the earliest of training camp, everything was fine. Shane Waldron was still employed! That's how fine everything was. In fact, everything was going so smoothly that almost no one made a peep when DJ Moore went on Kay Adams' morning show and talked a bunch of trash about the Packers' secondary. It was just a footnote during a day that was presumably dominated by grainy video of Caleb Williams slingin' it around the yard. Some people probably don't even remember.

That is, except for Xavier McKinney. Xavier McKinney remembers. And Xavier McKinney has been waiting all this time to speak on it, and reader, boy did he speak on it. While talking to The Athletic's Packers beat writer Matt Schneidman, McKinney went on a rant about DJ Moore that I'm willing to bet a large sum of money will show up in some way on Sunday afternoon.

Packers' Xavier McKinney doesn't have one single nice thing to say about DJ Moore

"(Moore) is another one of those guys, same guy, play’s still going on and you walk off the field on your offense. You know, you take note of that ... I’ve been playing (NFL) football for five years now and I’ve been watching football for longer than that and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a … You’re supposed to be the guy and you’re just walking off the field. You’re walking off the field on a rookie quarterback that you’ve been praising, so it’s like, that’s a whole other story.”

When pressed on the notion that Moore walked off the field because he hurt his ankle, McKinney didn't mince words, simply saying, "Cap. That’s what I say. Cap.”

So not only is he calling Moore lazy, but he's also calling him a liar? And heavily implying that Moore's one of the main reasons behind the Bears' dysfunction over the last six weeks. I'd argue this is maybe the most direct and dramatic trash talk that we've seen this season? Players rarely ever go at someone this directly anymore. Whatever else happens on Sunday afternoon, at least we'll get to watch Moore and McKinney settle this on the field. And you know they're going to.
