There are plenty of Chicago Bears fans who believe the team should move on from defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo after his bust of a season with them

After giving him $48 million on a three-year deal, Odeyingbo only played half the season with one sack before suffering a season-ending injury. There is an option for the Bears to reach an injury settlement with Odeyingbo, which could open the door for them to sign someone, and a new option has become available for him.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Miami Dolphins are parting ways with edge rusher Bradley Chubb after two and a half years with the team. Chubb has been a two-time Pro Bowler in his career and is coming off an 8.5-sack season with the Dolphins in 2025.

Bears have a great edge rusher in Bradley Chubb available for them

One thing about Chubb that makes him way better than Odeyingbo: he gets to the quarterback. Odeyingbo only has 17.5 sacks in 69 career games, while Chubb has had 48 sacks in 90 career games played.

The hot names that everyone wants the Bears to go after are Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby, who are both very good options for Chicago. One thing to consider with Chubb, though, is that he would be a cheaper option and wouldn't require sacrificing any draft picks.

Chubb might end up commanding maybe $10-15 million per year as he is 29 and starting to get out of the prime of his career; that asking price could be lower if given the right situation. Knowing that the Bears are a potential Super Bowl-contending team, Chubb could go for less and chase a ring instead.

This situation would put Montez Sweat on one side and Chubb on the other, which would still be a great combo, but it would also allow Austin Booker to be in the rotation and perform well. Chicago could still look at the NFL Draft to add another edge rusher to develop behind Sweat and Chubb for the future.

The Bears at least have another edge-rusher option they can consider that would make a ton of sense to bring in.
