PFF just proved the Bears' most glaring concern (and it's not on offense)

As if this week could not get any worse, Pro Football Focus decided to jump in and pile on the Chicago Bears. The concern all week has been Caleb Williams and the offense, but PFF is here to remind you that the defensive line is not good, either.

The Chicago Bears defensive line did not play well Monday night

The defensive came in at 30th in their grading, which is based solely off of 2025 play. They cite the biggest reason for falling as Montez Sweat. It is fair that he did not have a great game. He missed a tackle, which hurts his PFF score, and he was not active enough.

Still, the big issue for the Chicago Bears is that they have so little depth behind Sweat. Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo played 43 and 46 snaps, respectively, out of 56 snaps. That means sitting for just 10 and 13 snaps. That is not enough rest and will lead to poor play here and there.

Also, they do not have anyone to bring the grade up. Tanoh Kpassagnon had a sack, but only played 13 snaps. Dominique Robinson played ten snaps, and he never brings much to the table. So, the two need more of a rest, but it is hard to justify when and how they get it.

Along the interior, Gervon Dexter started hot, but cooled down as the game went on, which appears to be a consistent theme with him. Grady Jarrett played a fine game, but Andrew Billings hardly played and did not post a good grade.

In defense of Sweat, he faced off with Brian O’Neil, who is a great right tackle. The interior of the Minnesota Vikings' offensive line is entirely new, and it may be a very strong group. The only issue was the left tackle, who was a backup as Christian Darrisaw was out.

Odeyingbo played well and graded out the highest of the group. However, he did not completely dominate a backup and wreck the game in the ways that some teams can.

The Bears' star talent was locked up, they did not have the star talent to expose the weakness in the Vikings front, and their depth was exposed. While the grading ofthe  30th may be a bit harsh, there are going to need to be improvements in all of those areas for this defensive line to be taken seriously.
