The Chicago Bears gave up too soon on Adrian Amos
Were you a fan of Adrian Amos? Personally, I wasn't sad to see Amos leave. Watching him turn into a traitor and play for the Packers was not something I thought we'd see. When it comes to Amos, I don't think he's that great of a safety. He's an average to slightly above-average strong safety. What makes him the most valuable though was his ability to allow Eddie Jackson to roam freely.
Once Adrian Amos was gone, Jackson was unable to perform at the same level because he was asked to play the game a different way. He was no longer able to roam freely and make the splash plays that every fan wants to see.
While in Green Bay, Amos saw his tackle numbers increase along with his takeaways. Amos has 10 interceptions in his career and seven of them came with the Packers. Last year, Amos finished with 102 combined tackles — the first time he hit triple digits. Apparently, that wasn't good enough though as the Packers let him walk and Amos followed the other Packers to the New York Jets.
