Round 5, Pick 137: C Beaux Limmer

The center position was a black hole for the Chicago Bears in 2023. Veteran Cody Whitehair was released this offseason and Lucas Patrick has yet to be signed in free agency. In return, the team has added Ryan Bates via trade and signed Coleman Shelton in free agency.

Bates has delivered solid results, but mostly at guard. Shelton had one solid season at center, but the team could still use a higher-ceiling option. Beaux Limmer from Arkansas has all the makings of an above-average NFL center. Limmer had a great combine and finished with the third-highest athleticism score among all centers.

Limmer is a better run blocker than a pass blocker, but he holds his own either way. The lineman allowed just one QB hit in over 800 snaps in 2023. Limmer would immediately challenge for the starting center job in 2024.
