Round 6, Pick 180: TE Tanner McLachlan

The Chicago Bears have one of the best tight ends in the league in Cole Kmet. The team also added Gerald Everett in free agency. However, the only other tight end on the roster is Stephen Carlson. The team could use a young, high-upside option at the position.

Enter Tanner McLachlan. McLachlan had two seasons with the Arizona Wildcats where he showcased his pass-catching ability. In 2023, the tight end caught 45 passes for 528 yards and four touchdowns. McLachlan also held his own as a blocker and showed promise in both phases of his game.

This late in the draft, getting another weapon for the new QB is a good way to go. McLachlan would also contribute in the run game and on special teams.
