Kiran Amegadjie

12 games played, 2 starts

Kiran Amegadjie just began practicing last week, and he will have a ramp-up period before he is entrusted to protect Williams' blindside in any capacity. Luckily for the Bears, they don't really need the University of Yale product to make an immediate impact, as Braxton Jones has been a quality starter at left tackle since entering the league in 2022.

Amegadjie was a forward-thinking pick, as they didn't expect him to provide much of an impact for as long as Jones is suiting up for the Bears. However, he is a great swing tackle if either starter were to go down, and he also provides insurance if they decide to move on from Jones for the duration of his rookie contract (he is signed through 2025).

I expect Amegadjie to be the first player off the bench (assuming they are comfortable with his development) if Jones or Wright gets hurt, and I think he will make a few spot starts this year in that role. However, there will be an adjustment period since he is making such a massive jump in competition.
