2024 rookie stat projections for the Chicago Bears' recent draft class
Austin Booker
16 games, 9 starts, 20 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 7 TFLs, 1 Forced Fumble
Austin Booker played like an absolute MENACE this preseason! He may be raw, but he proved that he has a bag of tricks at his disposal when it comes to getting after the opposing quarterback, and his sole purpose this season will be putting those to good use.
I don't think the University of Kansas product will get many starts over Darrell Taylor, whom the team traded for from Seattle last week. However, his impact will come as a situational pass-rusher, and I think he can be very effective in that role.
The Bears will ultimately look wise for selecting Booker, and he will get a handful of sacks in year one. He will also be the first player off the bench if Sweat or Taylor gets hurt, resulting in a few starts for the rook. Overall, I expect an impressive performance from the fifth-round selection this year.
