Center

The Bears cut Cody Whitehair and let Lucas Patrick enter free agency. In return, the team traded for Ryan Bates and signed Coleman Shelton. However, center is still a need as neither Bates nor Shelton have a long track record of success.

Bates started 15 games for the Buffalo Bills in 2022, but that was as a guard. Shelton has two years of starting center experience, but PFF gave Shelton mediocre ratings. Thus, the team could stand to add even more competition here.

As for free agency, there are a couple of viable options remaining. Connor Williams is the top unsigned center, while Mason Cole and Brian Allen are other quality options. Considering the team's lack of mid-round draft capital, free agency is probably the best route to improve this position.
