The NFL is so fun because it can be so unpredictable. One week or season is all about a specific player, and the next season we see a new player step in and change the game. Situations are always changing. With the Chicago Bears about to enter training camp, which players are entering precarious situations?

3. Who will win the Chicago Bears starting center job?

This one is mainly about Ryan Bates, but things can be precarious for Coleman Shelton as well. Still, Bates is the big one. There are three potential outcomes for him this season. First, he could start at center. That seems to be the plan that the team wants to see happen.

However, they have Coleman Shelton for a reason. The two will duel it out and the best center will win the job. So, option two is that Bates loses the job and is a swing lineman for most of the season.

The last potential option is that Bates has to move to right guard. Nate Davis was a dud for most of last year, and nothing says that he can stay healthy or motivated for a full season at this point. Bates was a swing lineman with Buffalo, and he has more experience at guard than center.

So, the team could move Bates to guard or have Bates duel with Davis instead of Shelton. Thus, Shelton would win the job.

In two scenarios Bates starters, but only one is at center. Two scenarios see Coleman Shelton starting at center. It is still up in the air what will happen in this spot.
