3 Chicago Bears Entering Precarious Situations in 2024
1. Life could come at Tyrique Stevenson fast in 2024
This one is flying under the radar, and it should. had a solid rookie season. However, when you compare it to another rookie on the roster, he did not even have the best rookie season. Terell Smith did.
It was a much smaller sample size, but Smith was great when he saw the field. Stevenson had moments, but a lot of that is because he was targeted so much. There were ups and downs, and the ups looked good. The downs were there, though and they were not for Smith. Towards the end of the season, Smith started to eat into the playing time of Stevenson.
Opposite Stevenson is Jaylon Johnson, an All-Pro performer. If Stevenson happened to lose his job to Terell Smith, he would be pushed to the bench. It is unlikely to happen, but Stevenson should be aware that Smith has a lot of the tools that an ideal starting cornerback possesses. He is locked in as a starter, but if he slips up, they may not be worried about pulling him. It is not a camp battle, but we can say that the situation is precarious.
