The NFL is a team sport and the 53rd player on the roster can make or break how far you go in the playoffs. However, it is still a sport where some of the top players at their position can dominate games and change outcomes. You need to have the big dogs at the top of the roster. If the Chicago Bears want to take a step into being a playoff contender they will need to see the alphas on their roster step up. Who are those players?

3. D.J. Moore is the Chicago Bears number-one receiver

One of the more interesting debates this offseason has been who the Chicago Bears' number one wide receiver is. The team added Rome Oduzne and Keenan Allen and some fans and media will speculate that one of those two could be the top pass catcher.

However, while Allen was once a number one, his age and role in this offense suggest that he will be a relied-upon slot. Rome Odunze may eventually surpass D.J. Moore, but that will not be during his rookie year.

While Odunze is young and ascending and Allen is a bit past his prime years, the Bears have D.J. Moore, who is just 27 years old. Moore is coming off of the best year of his career. He can also play all of the roles in the offense and get the ball in all areas of the field.

Odunze will typically catch passes deep down the sideline and Allen will be a check-down slot, Moore will be the man who does all of the number one receiver things. He will typically draw the toughest coverages, but because of the new players around him, he may still be able to produce at a similar rate because you cannot shift as much attention his way. Look for Moore to remain the dominant player.
