The 2024 NFL Draft is now behind us. The Chicago Bears did a fine job of adding talent even as they entered the draft with just four picks. The team now has a quarterback for the future in Caleb Williams, a star receiver in Rome Odunze, and a few solid role players who should contribute soon.
While most fans approve of the Bears' draft, there is one position group that went untouched- the interior defensive line. Defensive tackle was seen as a major need for the Bears heading into the offseason, but no major additions were made in free agency or during the draft. Zacch Pickens, Gervon Dexter Sr., Andrew Billings, and Michael Dwumfour are the current DTs on the roster.
If the Bears want to add a DT now, the pickings are slim. Leonard Williams, Chris Jones, and DJ Reader were elite free agent options but each of those players signed weeks ago. Even mid-level tackles like Javon Kinlaw, Jerry Tillery, Tim Settle, and Jordan Phillips, have signed elsewhere, to name a few. This means the Bears will be looking at old veterans and unproven guys if they wish to add a DT.
Today, let's identify the three remaining free agent DTs who would make the most sense in Chicago.
