Mike Purcell

Mike Purcell is another solid veteran option for the Bears. The massive DT started 10 games for the Denver Broncos in 2023 and collected 25 tackles, one tackle for loss, and also batted down three passes. Purcell also added four QB knockdowns and four pressures last season.

Purcell is not much of a pass rusher, having only accumulated 3.5 sacks in his career. However, like Mone, Purcell can clog running lanes and help the Bears' defense as a whole. It would be wise to have a player like Purcell on the roster to help Pickens and Dexter develop.

Ideally, Purcell would start the season as one of the Bears' starters. As the season progresses, Purcell could give way to the young guys up front. The veteran isn't the most exciting option, but he's one of the best available at this point. Some depth is better than no depth.
