3 free agent defensive tackles the Chicago Bears can still sign
James Lynch
James Lynch is probably the most intriguing option available for the Bears. The DT is just 25 years old and spent the first three seasons of his career with the division-rival Minnesota Vikings. Lynch suffered a torn ACL prior to the 2023 season and was released by the team.
Lynch is an interesting flier for the Bears to take. The DT has racked up 53 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks over three seasons. Lynch figured to be a key rotational piece along the line in 2023 for the Vikings before going down with an injury. It's possible the DT could refind his groove with a new change of scenery.
The first two options presented are veterans who have been around the block. Lynch is different because he could still grow into a special player. If the Bears don't wish to go with a retread, Lynch should be the call.
