3 free agents from the Los Angeles Rams that the Chicago Bears should sign
Brian Allen, C
It's no secret that the Chicago Bears need a center. Recent trade addition Ryan Bates and former sixth-round draft pick Doug Kramer, Jr., are the only centers currently on the roster. Previous starter Cody Whitehair was cut in a cost-saving measure earlier this offseason.
Brian Allen was at one time the Rams' starting center. The team thought highly enough of Allen to give him a three-year, $24 million extension in March 2022. However, Allen was beaten out by Coleman Shelton for the starting job in 2023. Allen was cut after the season.
The Bears need a proven option at center, and Allen fits the bell. The veteran wouldn't cost what the top centers on the market would and would be a nice low-risk, high-reward option. Allen was elite as recently as the 2021 season when he earned an 80.2 PFF grade.
