2. DJ Moore will be with the Chicago Bears throughout his prime years
As noted, this is an extension on top of the current deal he had with two years on it. Moore will be signed with the Chicago Bears through the 2029 season. The way that his contract is structured likely makes the 2029 unguaranteed, but it is hard to see the Bears moving on from him. The only reason they would is that his age hits him and he starts to decline.
Moore is 27 years old now. Usually, the best years of a wide receivers career are 27-30. They start to fall back after age 30. The Bears will have Moore signed through his age-32 season. So, they are signed up for the best three years of his career, and then they will get to see how he handles age 31 before deciding what to do with him when he is 32 years old.
Essentially, Moore will be locked in with the Chicago Bears for the entirety of his prime. Even if he leaves at age 32 or 33, it will be a year or two on a new team before he fades out.
The Bears' all-time leading receiver has 5,059 yeards. While Moore only had 1,364, it is pretty hard to see him playing out the duration of his contract without surpassing 5,000 yards. Look for Moore to leave Chicago as the best receiver in franchise history.
