4 Chicago Bears facing a fight for new deals in 2024

1. Khalil Herbert

Khalil Herbert is another case of a player with plenty on the line, but it may not be the Bears who give him his next contract. Herbert got the chance to carry the load for the team last year. He got hurt and struggled when he came back. In total, he cracked 100 yards just three times. 

Then, the Bears added D’Andre Swift this offseason. Swift has a lot in common with Herbert and even has more ability in the passing game. This makes it hard to see Herbert getting a lot of prime opportunities if any at all. 

So, he has to make the most of every touch he gets. For a big play hitter that could be a win for the Bears. Swift is signed through next year and Roschon Johnson is in the second year of his rookie salary deal. So, Herbert probably would not want to come back no matter his performance next year. However, if he wants to get a chance to start elsewhere, he needs to play well.
