2) Push the ball down the field in the passing game
The Bears' passing attack has taken palpable steps over the first three games, and Sunday provides an opportunity to take another step as a group. Specifically, the Bears and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams should continue to evolve the passing attack over the middle of the field, especially considering veteran receiver Keenan Allen is good to go for Sunday after getting hurt in week one.
With an average yards per completion of 7.6 - the fourth-lowest mark in the league - the Bears' air game has been built heavily around screens, quick passes, and check-downs accompanied by the occasional deep shot. Finding opportunities to throw balls over 10+ yards across the middle of the field can be rare in the NFL, but as the offense continues to establish their chemistry on the field, hitting those shots will result in big plays for the unit. Conveniently, the Rams' defense has surrendered over 13 yards per completion, the worst mark in the league.
There will certainly be opportunities for chunk passing plays from the pocket on Sunday, but much of the execution will rely on the shared responsibility between the quarterback, the receivers, and the play-caller, the majority of whom are new to the team this season. Fortunately, Williams' creativity from the pocket and ability to throw from multiple angles will only further produce these moments for his offense.
