3. Roschon Johnson

Roschon Johnson has been a bit of a disappointment since the team drafted him in the fourth round. A lot of it is not his fault, though. They brought him along slowly early in the season, and then when the depth chart opened up for him, he suffered a concussion.

By the time he got healthy, the rest of the running back room had recovered. So, Johnson entered year two with a lot of question marks. He has failed to answer them.

He played a bit on the Hall of Fame game but did not blow anyone away. Then, he missed most of the week of practice and sat out the second preseason game. This may not be crucial to his roster positioning, but we may not want to call Johnson a lock anymore.

Velus Jones Jr. is taking snaps at running back because of his kick return prowess. Travis Homer was a lock until Jones made the switch to running back. Now, he is right on the edge. However, Homer brings special teams ability, is a good pass protector, and has shown he can stay healthy.

Johnson has proven that he can pass protect and play special teams, but he has not shown that he is healthy yet. If Johnson continues to miss time, will the Bears at least consider cutting him and keeping both Jones and Homer as the third and fourth backs?
