3. Reddy Steward

The Chicago Bears have quickly assembled one of the best cornerback rooms in the NFL. They are not only talented in the starting unit, they have some depth as well. That is why Reddy Steward has a very small shot to make the roster.

The rookie UDFA from Troy has played exclusively in the slot this summer. The issue with that is that Chicago is now loaded in the slot. Kyler Gordon starts and only plays the slot now. Both Josh Blackwell and Greg Stroman have spent time backing up the injured Gordon in regular-season play, and both have been solid.

Stroman and Blackwell also bring special teams ability, so the Bears are going to struggle to cut one if they even have to. The Bears keeping three slot cornerbacks is a death sentence for Steward's roster chances.

Still, this is a player who earned an NFL  job based on his preseason play. He has been a solid tackler and run defender and has had moments in coverage. The Bears are too deep for him to get a roster spot, but the practice squad is a great position to be in.
