The Chicago Bears are 1-2 following Week 3, and if you ask any fan around the city, they will tell you that the vibes are not good right now. The team has plenty of time to turn things around, but there has been little on the field to make anyone think that will happen.

What are some reasons to stay positive?

5. Caleb Williams is just a rookie

This should have been expected. Yes, Caleb Williams is deemed as one of the better number overall picks in recent years. Yes, the Bears were discussed as one of the best landing spots for a number one overall pick to land into in quite some time. Still, even if both end up being true, that does not mean the team is expected to hit the ground running.

Williams is still a rookie. Rookies can finish the season strong, but they usually do not start the season strong, so this is not really out of the norm. If Williams was lighting it up it would have been a great sign, but his struggling as a rookie is not the end of the world.

The playcaller is new, not only to the quarterback but to almost everyone on the team. The offensive line did not get time to form in the summer due to injuries. Rome Odunze is also a rookie, Keenan Allen will be back soon, and D’Andre Swift is trying to fit into a new team.

There are a lot of moving pieces and new faces for a rookie quarterback. The talent is there, and it flashes at times. That is enough to assume that as all of the newness starts to set in, the record will improve.
