5 things we must see from the Chicago Bears in Week 3
We need to see the Chicago Bears run defense step up to the challenge
The Bears' secondary is the real deal, and I do not think anyone will debate that. The run defense still has to show more to get that label, though. In week one, Tony Pollard ripped them up for 81 yards on 16 carries. Will Levis added 36 yards on four carries. Last week Joe Mixon left the game early, but Cam Akers did finish with 32 yards on seven carries, 4.6 per attempt. This has to be better this week.
The Colts starting quarterback is a work in progress as a passer, but he sure can run. If the Bears struggled to contain Levis, this could be a serious issue. More than that, Jonathan Taylor is clearly the best running back they have faced and the Colts have the best run-blocking offensive line that the team will have seen so far.
If the run defense holds up here, you will know that it is not going to be an issue. However, for a unit that has not been exposed yet, this could also be the day that they look weaker than ever. We have to see them step up to win.
