6 Players the Chicago Bears Will Regret Leaving off the 53-Man Roster in 2024
By Peter Jurich
Cornerbacks Reddy Steward and Greg Stroman Jr
The Bears' secondary is perhaps the strongest part of this young team, so it was always going to be difficult for cornerbacks Reddy Steward and Greg Stroman Jr to crack the initial 53-man roster. Still, both players made the decision difficult for the front office thanks to their play on the field.
Steward was the defensive MVP of the team's preseason victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, recording two picks, one of which was returned for a 48-yard touchdown.
Stroman's preseason production was significantly quieter, but the six-year pro has demonstrated his value over the past two seasons in Chicago.
Both Steward and Stroman Jr were ultimately impacted by the depth of talent in the Bears' secondary, but there is still hope for either player to make a gameday roster, either in Chicago or for a different team. Regardless, both players added to their resumes this preseason, and are certainly in a position to keep hunting down their respective dreams of being in the NFL full-time.
