Bears are already neck-and-neck with one of the best teams in the NFC

The Chicago Bears hype train is rolling! The Bears had arguably the best offseason in the NFL and now they'll look to prove that they're worth all of the hype they're getting when their 2024 season kicks off against the Tennessee Titans.

Something that has really raised eyebrows from everyone around the league is that, not only do people think the Bears will be a playoff contender, but that they'll go on a playoff run. Kay Adams of Up & Adams noted on X that "The Rams and Bears have the same odds to win the NFC Championship".

Adams is correct here. FanDuel has given the Bears the seventh-best odds to win the NFC, tied with the Los Angeles Rams. The San Francisco 49ers lead the way with +260 odds followed by the Detroit Lions with +500, the Philadelphia Eagles with +600, the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys at +900, the Atlanta Falcons at +1200, and then the Rams and Bears sitting with +1500 odds to win the conference.

Considering the Bears haven't been to the NFC Championship Game since the 2010 season, these odds show that the team is getting a ton of respect. Caleb Williams might only be a rookie but people clearly believe that what the Bears have built around him is enough for the team to be not only a playoff contender but a potential Super Bowl contender as well.

When looking at those odds, it makes sense to see all of the teams ahead of the Bears. The fact that they've been given the same odds as the Rams is quite impressive considering LA is a perennial playoff contender and Super Bowl contender most years as well. The Rams had a down year in 2022 but that was after they won a Super Bowl trophy. In 2023, they reached the playoffs again despite a rough start to the season.

Let's hope the oddsmakers are right and that the Bears can hold up their end of the bargain when it comes to this hype train.
