You won’t get much of a payout if you’re betting this late on Caleb Williams to be the No. 1 pick in this week’s NFL Draft in Detroit.

Right now, Williams is –20000 to be taken in the top spot, which is currently held by the Chicago Bears. That’s an implied probability of 99.50% and oddsmakers already have high hopes that Williams can turn around a franchise that has been plagued by sub-par quarterback play.

Bears fan will love Caleb Williams Offensive Rookie of the Year odds

You’d have to go back over two decades to find the last time a Chicago Bear won the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Chicago drafted Michigan running back Anthony Thomas in the second round of the 2001 draft. In his rookie season, Thomas took home OROY honors after running for a career-high 1,183 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Since then, Chicago’s offensive rookies have not panned out. That could change soon when Williams gets picked by the Bears.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, is the odds-on favorite at +350 to be named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year next season. Those odds carry an implied probability of 22.22% that Williams will be Chicago’s first OROY in 23 years.

Williams is the only quarterback in this year’s rookie field to be in the top-4 on the odds board for the award. There are three receivers behind Williams (Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr., LSU’s Malik Nabers and Washington’s Rome Odunze). The next closest quarterback is LSU signal-caller and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels at +1200.

A quarterback has been named the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 10 of the last 20 seasons and three (Sam Bradford, Cam Newton and Kyler Murray) were the No. 1 pick in the draft.

According to FanDuel, Williams’ passing yards prop for next season is set at 3,350.5 yards.
