Bears have officially won the Bryce Young trade after latest Panthers update

That is, as they say, curtains.

At this point, I kinda just feel bad for Bryce Young.

It happened. Young, who you may remember as The Guy That The Bears Passed On, has officially been benched. After the Panthers spent the entire offseason in an extensive search looking for, and eventually finding, the next great NFL quarterback whisperer who could fix their franchise guy, that NFL quarterback whisperer decided to bench their franchise guy.

You may think this is rash, but when you have the chance to give up on your future to start Andy Dalton for 15 games in a season that didn't matter anyways, only an idiot would turn that down. The NFL's savviest owner strikes again. Now the Panthers get a chance to tweet a picture of Dalton as QB1 and make all their fans irate. Time truly is a flat circle. Maybe once David Tepper fires Dave Canales after one season, they can hire Matt Nagy and really just follow in the footsteps of their predecessor. Khalil Mack could be a cap cut next offseason too! Mitch Trubisky bridge QB SZN? Let's get the whole gang back together.

The Bears pulled off an all-time great heist by passing on Bryce Young

That about ends the debate I'd say. It's not very often that you can revisit Draft trades with so much confidence only two years later, but at this point there's no question that the Bears pulled off an all-timer. In exchange for the rights to draft Young, the Panthers gave Chicago DJ Moore, the pick that turned into Caleb Williams, and then also the picks that turned into like, half of their future core. When you see all the terms of the trade written down, it almost makes you feel guilty. (But just almost!!!) I feel bad for Young, but this is tremendous content.

This is exactly what Bears fans needed today, too. You know who wants to talk about Sunday Night Football now? Absolutely nobody. I'm honestly not sure if there was Sunday Night Football last night. If there was, no one even remembers a single thing about it, so did the result even count? We'll never know. What we do know is that the Bears are 2-0, and their second win of the season was just the latest in a long line of wins that have been gifted to them by the Carolina Panthers. What a great brand partnership that's turned out to be.
