Bears land one of Deion Sanders' top Colorado stars in latest NFL Mock Draft
There are somehow already 2025 NFL Mock Drafts already being published. I know, I agree, it does suck. But it's my job to tell you about them so you don't have to randomly stumble on them and feel the same anger that I do. That's the FanSided Promise: we'll read mock drafts so you don't have to.

This week's version comes from CBS Sports. In their latest mock, they have the Bears picking 12th overall, which feels about right currently. The 12th overall pick: for teams with a few good players and very little hope. Luckily, this specific mock draft is capital-f Fun for the Bears. It doesn't make sense, but who cares? It's mid-September. According to CBS, the Bears are absolutely, totally, for sure going to take one of Colorado's stars. The mystery! I'll give you a hint: it's not Shilo Sanders.
Travis Hunter, you are a Chicago Bear (according to CBS Sports)
"I'm not going to overcomplicate it. The defense is really good, but you can create packages for him. On the other side of the ball, they don't necessarily need more wide receivers but you can find places for Travis Hunter to help you. At 12, I feel really good about that."
I'll be honest, I don't really get this at all. CBS' explanation literally starts with how the Bears don't actually need anything that Hunter brings to a team, but that shouldn't stop them anyway. I guess? Travis Hunter makes the Bears approximately 100x more exciting at positions they're already exciting at. And it's an objectively fun pick that'll get picked up everywhere and drive traffic, all of which is fine, whatever.
But the Bears need linemen. Offense, defense, doesn't matter. They need 'em. And this gets into the best player available vs team needs debate, which is not something I'm remotely interested in diving into over the next 150 words. Hunter/Jaylon Johnson as CB1/2 would be as electric as any CB pairing in football, and Hunter/Odunze as WR1/2 wouldn't be half-bad either. It's a very fun idea in the way that trading for Patrick Mahomes in Madden is a very fun idea. The Bears should do that too!
