The Chicago Bears have two more preseason games to learn what they have on their roster before the regular season. With joint practices set up between the teams, there are rumors that big names such as Caleb Williams will not play. However, this opens the door wide for lesser-known players to make the roster or push for a starting spot. Who has things to prove this week?

5. Velus Jones Jr.

The Chicago Bears have essentially decided that Velus Jones is not good enough to make their roster as a wide receiver. However, they want him to be a weapon due to his kick return ability. So, they are trying him out at running back

His first game as a running back was up and down, but at least ended with a good taste in fans' mouths. However, the main reason he will make the roster is kick returns and he struggled to field one when he got a chance last week.

Jones has to show that he can compete with Ian Wheeler and Travis Homer for one of the last roster spots. He also has to win the kick return job decisively. He is going to have two weeks to prove it, but this week may be his best chance because a lot of fates are sealed before that final game.
