2. Tyson Bagent
The Chicago Bears are in week two of their quarterback competition. Before the Hall of Fame game, we saw the classic “OR” label on the depth chart, signaling that Tyson Bagent had a slight lead as the backup, but he was clearly in competition with Brett Rypien.
Bagent did nothing to lose his standing in the competition, and the Bears pulled him early because they liked what he showed. However, you cannot deny that Brett Rypien looked like the best quarterback from the Hall of Fame game.
Rypien more or less stayed in the competition rather than making up ground because of how Bagent played. Still, the “OR” designation was back on the depth chart before the Buffalo Bills game.
The Chicago Bears will start Caleb Williams and we should see more of Bagent. The team will even want to see Austin Reed after he did not get enough chances due to the weather last week.
