Bears vs. Texans Time, Location, Streaming, Odds & More: Everything you need to know
The lid lifter of the 2024 NFL Preseason is here as the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans open the preseason game with the Hall of Fame game on Thursday night.
If we're being completely honest, the Hall of Fame game is often one of the most overhyped games of the entire NFL calendar. Yes, this is the first NFL game since February and that always generates excitement but given how rare it is for starters to play in the game, the actual in-game product leaves much to be desired.
That doesn't stop the hype surrounding the Bears as they enter the 2024 season. DJ Moore's contract extension was a nice bow to an offseason where the Bears changed the course of their organization. The selection of quarterback Caleb Williams in the 2024 NFL Draft was the catalyst for the change and while Williams is not playing in Thursday night' game, it goes without saying that the No. 1 overall draft pick will be heavily featured.
Bears vs. Texans Game Time:
Kickoff of the NFL's preseason will be at 7pm CST on Thursday night as the game between the Bears and Texans will serve as background noise for the Hall of Famers and NFL personnel kicking off the weekend's festivities.
Bears vs. Texans Location:
The NFL's Hall of Fame game takes place at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The Bears are considered the home team for this game, as the Hall of Fame members being inducted this year include three former Bears players: Devin Hester, Julius Peppers, and Steve McMichael.
Bears vs. Texans Streaming and TV:
ESPN carries the rights to the NFL's Hall of Fame. In a trend established last season with their primetime games, the game will be carried on both ESPN and ABC. The game will also be streamed on ESPN+.
Bears vs. Texans Odds:
We get it; this is the first opportunity to bet on an NFL game since February. As of this writing, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook, the Texans are favored with a spread of -1.5. Meanwhile, the over/under for the game is set at 31.5 with the Bears moneyline at +110.
What to Watch for in Bears vs. Texans Game:
There will be a conversation around the idea of the Bears hoping to have similar success with Williams as their quarterback this season that the Houston Texans had with CJ Stroud last season. However, with both quarterbacks sitting this game out, we won't get to see them go against each other until the regular season.
For this game, this will be an opportunity to get a look at the depth the Bears have at each position. With the starters not playing, the second and third string units should see a lot of playing time.
