Sean Murphy-Bunting is a veteran corner option for the Bears

The Bears recently released Eddie Jackson, which means the team currently has one of the youngest secondaries in the league. Jaylon Johnson was outstanding in 2023, and Tyrique Stevenson showed promise as a rookie. However, the Bears still finished just 25th in opponent passing yards per game.

Murphy-Bunting didn't have his best season in 2023, but he was still a serviceable option. The corner collected two interceptions and 50 tackles in his lone season with the Titans. With such a young secondary, a stable veteran like Murphy-Bunting could go a long way.

Spotrac projects Murphy-Bunting to land $6.7M in free agency, so again, perfectly reasonable for the Bears. This offseason will be about adding solid veterans who can immediately improve the roster, and Murphy-Bunting does that.
