1. Jim Caldwell would bring experience to the Chicago Bears

Jim Caldwell interviewed for the Chicago Bears head coaching job, but when Matt Eberflus got the job, he was still considered an offensive coordinator candidate. The thought was that he had more experience as a head coach than Eberflus. Maybe the Bears did need someone like Caldwell all along. Now, he is still available.

Caldwell was a special advisor and senior assistant with the Carolina Panthers, but things fell apart there, and the staff will be rebuilt.

Caldwell was the head coach for the Indianapolis Colts from 2009 to 2011. He was also the Detroit Lions' head coach from 2014 through 2017. In 2019, he was an assistant head coach with the Miami Dolphins. This role would not be new to him.

Caldwell has coached offenses on Super Bowl runs, both with the Colts and Baltimore Ravens. He has worked with rookies and would be a help. He is not the young, flashy name, but he could be what Matt Eberflus needs.
