Broncos vs. Bears prediction, odds, spread, injuries, trends for NFL Week 4
By Peter Dewey
The Chicago Bears have their best chance to pick up a win in the 2023 season to date in Week 4 against the 0-3 Denver Broncos.
One of these teams will finally get in the win column, but neither really deserves it at this point. Denver allowed 70 points to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, losing 70-20 in what will likely be the most lopsided game of the 2023 season.
The Bears nearly played worse in the 4 p.m. window last week, allowing 41 points to the Kansas City Chiefs without scoring, but they ended up losing just 41-10.
These teams have plenty of issues, mainly on the defensive end where they rank 32nd (Denver) and 30th (Chicago) in yards per play allowed this season.
Denver’s offense has looked better than Chicago’s, and oddsmakers have taken that into effect, favoring Denver on the road in this matchup. Can Justin Fields and company prove Vegas wrong and pick up a win?

Broncos vs. Bears key players to watch
Denver Broncos
The defense: Denver allowed 70 points to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, and the team has given up 105 points in its last two games. Denver is allowing the most yards per play in the NFL this season. This is not good for the team’s outlook in 2023.
Courtland Sutton: Sutton has been solid for the Broncos this season, making 17 catches for 189 yards and a pair of scores. He’s one of the weapons in this matchup that I’d trust in the prop market.
Chicago Bears
Justin Fields: All eyes are on Fields as he takes on the No. 32 ranked defense in the NFL. Fields has to be better – he’s completing just 58.0 percent of his passes and has thrown four picks in three games this season. The Bears have no chance of going anywhere if he struggles, but the bigger issue is that Fields could be in danger of losing his job in 2024.
Broncos vs. Bears prediction and pick
This is the ugliest game so far in the 2023 season, and I have zero interest in laying points with the Broncos in this matchup.
There are other bets we can take other than a side, but there are issues with basically all of them.
- Neither team has a win, so why take either outright?
- Both defenses stink, so the UNDER would be extremely risky.
- The Bears have scored the sixth-fewest points in the NFL, so can we trust them to score for an OVER? I’m not sold.
With that in mind, I’m going to just take the points with the Bears since we’re getting a field goal.
Denver hasn’t been able to stop anyone, especially through the air (9.1 yards allowed per pass attempt), so Fields may be able to bounce back from a rough first three games.
Even though the Broncos have moved the ball well on offense, they have a turnover differential of minus-4 this season.
It’s worth taking on a shot on Chicago to cover with both of these teams desperate for a win.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
