Caleb Williams was among the quarterback prospects that spoke with the media on Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine.
For Williams, considering he has been billed as the next generational quarterback in NFL during his final two seasons of the NFL, there have been plenty of discussion surrounding where his interest lies, especially with regard to potentially being selected by the Chicago Bears.
Earlier comments this week made by Williams put to rest the idea that he would refuse to play for the Bears. Williams continued to express excitement on Friday over the possibility of playing for the Bears, while also sharing that he does have a question for the team before the 2024 NFL Draft at the end of April.
It's a fair question for Williams to ask the Bears given that the team hasn't won a playoff game since the 2010 season when they defeated the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round. The Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game that season.
At the end of the day, that is also a question that the Bears will need to be asking themselves. Does Caleb Williams put the team in position to have more success, in terms of wins, consistently over the next four seasons than current starting quarterback Justin Fields? If the answer to that question is yes, then, the Bears have to take Williams.
To that end, the last question asked to Williams was if the Bears informed him that they would be taking him in the draft.
Of course, Williams was not going to answer that question but all signs continue to point toward him being the next starting quarterback of the Bears. While Williams will not be throwing at the combine, he did allude to further meetings with the Bears in the upcoming weeks between USC's Pro Day and a pre-draft visit to Halas Hall.
