Chicago Bears Pick No. 133: Ricky Stromberg, OC - Arkansas

After missing out on the top three centers in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Ricky Stromberg in the fourth. I have Stromberg in a tier by himself. For me, it goes John Michael Schmitz, who I could have had if I didn't trade down at 53, then Joe Tippmann and Luke Wypler. Schmitz is in his own tier for me and Tippmann and Wypler are in a tier slightly below him. Then, also by himself, is Stromberg.

I have a third-round grade on Stromberg and landing him this late would be ideal. If Stromberg doesn't last this long, the only other center prospects I'd be interested in are Olusegun Oluwatimi out of Michigan, Jarrett Patterson out of Notre Dame, and Juice Scruggs out of Penn State.

Ricky Stromberg is very athletic and fits the mold that Ryan Poles and his staff seem to love from their offensive linemen. He is 6'3" and 305 pounds. His Relative Athletic Score (RAS) was 9.57 and anything over 9.00 is someone the Chicago Bears would likely show interest in. What I love most about Stromberg is his strength. You won't see him being pushed over like a ragdoll in the same way we saw Sam Mustipher get manhandled. Stromberg has a strong upper body but also a decent anchor. He also is very good on the move and can get to the second level.
