Chicago Bears Draft Pick No. 171: Riley Moss, CB - Iowa

To be honest, the only part about this draft that I am not thrilled about is waiting this long to grab a cornerback. That said, I'm sure Ryan Poles and his staff can get creative with anyone left in free agency or anyone who might be cut after the draft. Also, landing Riley Moss here isn't the end of the world and he'd be a valuable addition to the depth of the group.

What I like about Riley Moss is his ability to get his hands on the football. He has seven interceptions over the last three years for Iowa. When targeted last year, he gave up four touchdowns, however, quarterbacks only completed 47.7% of their passes. The year before he only gave up one touchdown while allowing 53.5% of his targets to be completed.

Moss has some size to him at 6'1" and nearly 200 pounds. The downside though is although he possesses great 4.45 straight-line speed, he doesn't have enough twitch in his hips for me to feel comfortable counting on him as a full-time starter. He will find times when he struggles to mirror the receiver's routes but can make up for it with his football acumen -- putting himself in the right position at the right time.
