Chicago Bears 2023 NFL Draft: Final seven-round mock draft leaves many fans excited
Chicago Bears Draft Pick No. 204: Matt Landers, WR - Arkansas
While scouting offensive center Ricky Stromberg, the Chicago Bears could not help but be amazed by the size of wide receiver Matt Landers. Landers improved in many areas this past season. He caught over 65% of his passes and gained 901 yards and eight touchdowns. The prior year he only caught 60% of his passes for 514 yards and five touchdowns.
Landers is 6'4" and 200 pounds. He is not a refined route-runner and won't push anyone off the current depth chart. However, he can find ways to help in special teams and could eventually find his way into a red zone package due to his height. He could also be a deep threat should the team decide to move on from Velus Jones in a year or two.
Chicago Bears Draft Pick No. 258: Jake Witt, OT - Northern Michigan
With the Chicago Bears final pick (and the second-to-last pick in the draft) of the 2023 NFL Draft, Ryan Poles selects Jake Witt, offensive tackle out of Northern Michigan. This pick is purely a depth pick as Witt isn't going to compete for a starting role. That said, he fits all of the criteria this team looks for in an offensive lineman. He stands at an impressive 6'7" and is lean at only 302 pounds. His RAS is 9.8 too. Witt is everything Poles looks for in a developmental prospect and more.
