Chicago Bears 2023 NFL Draft: Final seven-round mock draft leaves many fans excited
The Chicago Bears make another trade, this time with the Rams
With a few players still on the draft board, I made another trade down for the Chicago Bears. The original offer was the Rams' pick at 67 and a 2024 sixth-round pick. I wasn't interested in that and countered with this trade instead.
To move back a few picks now and then swapping picks in the fifth round to gain a 2024 third-round pick was enticing enough for me to make this deal. Ryan Poles is a guy who seems very calculated in his decisions and is not always looking for an answer in the now. Adding another Day 2 pick to his arsenal for 2024 made too much sense to me and I pulled the trigger.
The Rams selected Cody Mauch with the pick at 64 and it did not bother me one bit as Mauch was no longer on my radar after already landing Paris Johnson, Jr. in the first round. Mauch reminds me of Teven Jenkins who could play both right tackle and guard. The Chicago Bears do not need that on the roster now that Johnson was locked up as either the starting left or right tackle.
