The Chicago Bears find another trade partner in the Saints

Holding the 109th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft did not last long. The Chicago Bears packaged that pick along with a future pick to move down and recoup the fifth-rounder they sent to the Raiders earlier. Here's the full trade with the Saints.

Sending a seventh-round pick next year to regain what is essentially the same pick sent to the Raiders earlier in the draft makes too much sense. I find it easy to acquire additional sixth and seventh-round picks and Ryan Poles can find a way to build up his Day 3 draft pick capital at a later date. For now, the Bears are able to move back only a few picks and still land a player worthy of taking in the fourth round -- a player who can have an impact on the team as early as 2023.

The Chicago Bears have plenty of positional needs. To this point in the draft, I have been able to address right tackle, defensive tackle, and defensive end, and I even added a top-tier tight end prospect who could be a big part of this team's future -- another weapon for Justin Fields. There are still plenty of prospects I like left on the board and it's time to see how the rest of the draft shakes out.
